Students will master the art of non-precious metal leaves focusing on interior design applications. These timeless and versatile techniques are suitable for both contemporary and traditional environments.

The techniques we will demonstrate are:

-Designs in relief with gels and plasters.
-Chabin, traditional squares, or chosen pattern, (domes, geometrical or free form designs.
-Stencils, acrylic painting, faux oxidation and different sealers including imitation “mecca” gilding (Popular in the mid-19th century, it is the practice of a burnished silver leaf with a pigmented varnish to have the appearance of gold leaf.)

Class participants will choose a minimum of two techniques to practice in class and make their own sample board.
