
Julia Lawrence,
BA Hons Fine Art
Julia studied at the Norwich School of Art and has been a professional
gilder for 30 years. She started work at a restoration work shop in Oxfordshire
where she worked on furniture from various Treasure Houses, including Blenheim
Palace, Luton Ho and Burleigh. As her work became better known, projects
arose in Northern Ireland for the Duke of Abercorn and lately the Castletown
estate in Southern Ireland.
Other notable projects include restoring gilded
furniture for Mansion House in the City of London and restoring the entire
ballroom of a large mansion in Kensington.
For the last 12 years Julia has
been subcontracted to work for the British Foreign Office in its various
ambassadorial residences and consulates around the world. Her largest projects
being in Ankara, Athens, Rome, Moscow and Istanbul.
Julia is now known
internationally as a leading expert in her field. She has built up an excellent
team who work with her and is now undertaking whole projects including
restoration and decorative finishes of houses.
